Summary:
Installs, dismantles, assemble and/or moves heavy equipment and machinery in the corrugated box industry according to blueprints or drawings.
Desired
Experience:
Must be knowledgeable in rigging heavy equipment.
Forklift certified.
Be able to travel 80% of work schedules.
Traveling to different states could be 1-2 months at a time.
This is mandatory for the job as our clients are in the millwright business and many are out of state.
Using machinery or equipment, such as forklifts/versalifts, to move machines or mechanical parts.
Attach loads to rigging to provide support or prepare them for moving.
Attach moving parts and subassemblies to basic assembly unit.
Select gear such as cable, pulleys, straps, chains, according to load weights and sizes.
Test rigging to ensure safety and reliability.
Aligns machines and equipment.
Arranges and drills mounting holes.
Signal or verbally direct workers engaged in hoisting and moving loads to ensure safety of workers and materials.
Must work in full compliance with approved safety regulations.
Must wear approved Personal Protection Equipment (PPE).
Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
Stand, kneel or bend during work shifts.
