As the Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting with administrative duties at our facility.
As a successful candidate, you will be responsible for obtaining patient records and test results, coordinating daily administrative tasks, preparing treatment rooms for examinations, and assisting our practitioners during medical procedures.
To be successful in this role, you will need to be certified from a medical assistant program and have at least one to two years of prior experience in a medical setting.
Responsibilities:
Helps patients by providing information, services, and assistance Maintains medical supplies inventory and performs preventive maintenance to keep medical equipment operating Verifies patient information by interviewing patient, recording medical history, and confirming purpose of visit Documents every phone conversation and out of ordinary issues on the EHR Prepares patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests; taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature; and reporting patient history summary Saves doctors' time by helping with office procedures Prepares and administers medications for patients as directed by physicians and documents on logs and EHR Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records; completing diagnostic coding and procedure coding; and keeping patient information confidential Counsels patients by transmitting physician's orders and questions about surgery Sets rooms for surgeries and procedures making sure supplies and consent forms are completed Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders, and verifying receipt Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs Makes sure to complete all tasks assigned and notifies the sender when completed.
Schedules or makes sure patients are scheduled for follow up Calls patients to make sure they have completed the orders of the Providers Makes sure CPT codes for all procedures done are included in the billing Serves and protects the practice by adhering to professional standards; facility policies and procedures; and federal, state, and local requirements Other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications:
1-2 years experience working in a medical setting High school diploma or GED required Bachelor's degree preferred Must have certification from a medical assistant program or military medical corpsman program Basic understanding of patient care, medical terminology, coding procedures, reference tools, and appropriate clinical pharmacology for medical assistant practice scope Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills Familiarity with electronic medical health care record systems Ability to walk, sit and stand for extended periods Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
